We are delighted to announce that Corplex Slovakia has been awarded the “Green Company” by Nadácia Pontis (Pontis foundation) during 23rd annual award ceremony of Via Bona Slovakia, thanks to our innovative project to ship mobile phones in reusable boxes in partnership with Slovak Telekom and Packeta Slovakia.
An Innovative Reusable Shipping Box
An innovative reusable shipping box was created by Corplex Slovakia for delivering mobile phones to Slovak Telekom’s customers. By replacing single-use boxes with reusable ones, this solution significantly reduces carbon footprint, promoting sustainability in both the telecommunications and parcel delivery sectors. This forward-thinking approach to e-commerce deliveries has been acclaimed for its exceptional innovation!
Key to the project’s success was a three-way collaboration involving Slovak Telekom, Packeta Slovakia, and Corplex Slovakia.
This project is a joint effort by three partners: Slovak Telekom, dedicated to environmental sustainability; Packeta Slovakia, a courier company striving to reduce the carbon footprint of home deliveries; and Corplex Slovakia, which possesses the expertise to design and mass-produce a shipping box that protects sensitive electronic devices and endures numerous reuse cycles.
The shared objective was to create a packaging solution that could be reused numerous times and designed with its end-of-life in mind. The box is made from polypropylene, a material that can be fully recycled into new boxes without quality degradation during the recycling process. Additionally, the box’s design allows it to be flat-folded when not in use for efficient returns and streamlined operations.
Mission accomplished! Slovak Telekom partnered with Packeta Slovakia for delivering electronic devices to its customers and manage packaging returns, while Corplex Slovakia handled the development, production and recycling of the reusable packaging, showcasing intersectoral synergy.
Achieving Positive Environmental Impact
This initiative has greatly reduced CO2 emissions by conserving resources and cutting down on single-use packaging waste. Corplex produced returnable boxes, each capable of being reused over 50 times. Moreover, these shipping boxes offer innovative features tailored for e-commerce packaging:
- Edges are fully sealed during the polypropylene sheet cutting process.
- The box is printed on directly using laser printing technology.
- Each package includes a dynamic QR code for product tracking and easy inventory management.
- Specially designed micro-perforated surface for easier labels removal.
Thanks to this collaboration, the collective strength of multiple sectors has fostered the advent of new environmentally friendly e/commerce packaging and delivery practices. 95.5% of end Slovak Telekom’s customers reported satisfaction with the reusable shipping boxes during pilot phase of the project.
